Land at Wickham Hall Estate, Hadham Road, Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. (East Hertfordshire District planning application reference 3/21/2601/FUL)
Aspect Landscape Planning were part of the technical team to secure planning permission for a 49.9MW solar photovoltaic farm on land at Wickham Hall Estate, abutting the recently completed A120 Hadham Bypass. Comprising mostly arable land, the environmental concerns were considered to be sensitively addressed, including the public rights of way corridors passing through or nearby. When recommending the approval of the proposal for renewable energy, East Hertfordshire Officers considered that the cited adverse effects would be outweighed by the benefits when assessed against the relevant policies.
Aspect Landscape Planning worked closely with Officers to provide robust responses to queries raised during the determination process, including the production of focused graphic material in support when requested.
The Planning Committee Members voted 12 votes to 1 to approve the scheme on 11 January 2023.
