Aspect Landscape Planning were appointed to undertake the landscape design and input to support the redevelopment of a former RAF base at Upper Rissington, located in the heart of the Cotswold's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) as part of a joint venture between Linden and Bovis Homes. The development includes 368 residential dwellings as well as the refurbishment of some retained existing buildings, including the old Officers’ Mess building. The scheme also includes a business park, new village convenience store, nursery, gym, public house, primary school, community hall and a healthcare facility. The development is set within extensive areas of open space and landscaping totaling approx. 22 hectares.  This incorporates a linear park including structural landscaping, specimen tree planting, formal and informal footpaths, wildflower grass meadows, a number of children’s play areas, community allotments and formal sports playing fields. Aspect’s overall landscape masterplan, and design code input for the landscape areas were key to the success of the planning application and the preparation of 3D visualisations of the linear park helped to illustrate the proposals for public consultation.
