Ben Wright (Landscape Planning Managing Director) gave virtual landscape evidence in early September last year in respect to a new roadside service area within the North Wessex Downs Area Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). A significant issue to the refusal was the effect upon the AONB purposes.
The Inspector concluded that “I agree with the appellants with regard to the significance of the effect of the development on the site (landscape character).”
The Inspector also noted that “..I agree with the appellants’ assessment of the MOI and SOE from here (A4185 within AONB)”
Further, the Inspector concluded that “ Accordingly I find the appellants’ assessment of the MOI and SOE to be accurate in this regard (visual within AONB)”.
